FORWAC EDUCATION CENTRE, ULAMBA VILLAGE, SIAYA COUNTY
This project, funded by a Germany based NGO (Forwac), was carried out by Skyline Builders (East Africa) Ltd as the Main Contractor and Skyline Plumbers and Energen Electricals as subcontractors for mechanical and electricals respectively. The project involved construction of an ultra-mordern education complex for Pre-primary and Primary school children in a rural village (Ulamba) in Siaya County in Kenya. The already completed complex has been constructed to include the following facilities:
7 No. Classrooms with 2.5m covered veranda with terrazzo floor finish and burglar proof doors and windows
Adminstration block with Head Teacher's office, deputy H/T office, staff room and book store equipped with shelves
Kitchen, 70SM plinth area, with mordern burners, store, serving porch, grease trap, sufficient water drainage, fire protection
Senior Master's office measuring 12SM plinth area
4 door Mordern staff toilet with sufficient water supply and drainage
10 door girls and boys latrines with water splash areas and water drinking faucets
A permenent bore-hole with automatic submersed electrical pump
High level elevated water tank on steel tower with automatic refill control
Solid Waste management system
Fire Hydrant system and portable fire extinguishers in all key points
100m long access road
650mm wide PCC Pavements around all buildings and paths
Power house with main electrical controls for the entire school
Overhead electrical supply from Naitional grid (KPLC)
Provisions for accomodating solar power
Underground submain distribution and reticulation
Internal lighting and power installations for all the buildings
H/L elevated tank fabricated and installed by Skyline
